SEARS ART MUSEUM INVITATIONAL, ST. GEORGE, UTAH

posted in: Exhibits/Events | 0

Karen Horne is honored to exhibit two artworks, by invitation, in the 37th Annual Sears Art Museum Art Show and Sale. This lovely exhibition of select Utah artists takes place in the dramatic facility at Utah Tech University, and is the Museum’s annual fundraiser. The opening gala was elegant and well-attended. Karen and her husband Michael were delighted to be able to be present in person for the festivities, and to see the expansive show.

Karen submitted two courtyard pastel paintings celebrating the light and warmth sought after in the southwest. Courtyard at Mission Carmel, is a work inspired by an actual visit to the California Mission, and was begun plein air, and later completed in the studio. “Morning in the Courtyard” captures a dramatic light on a potted garden in Old Town Albuquerque.
