I was excited and honored to learn that my latest cityscape artwork “Downpour on State Street” was accepted into the 102nd Annual Salon at the Springville Museum of Art.
The Spring Salon is always a very competitive statewide show with over a thousand entries covering a huge range of mediums, providing a great overview of contemporary art in Utah.
Of the several recent paintings I’ve done depicting the Utah State Capitol this is the most edgy and experimental. I actually snapped the reference image while running across State Street in the rain. Hence the tipped horizon and sense of motion. Yikes, I was thinking snap that photo fast!
Springville Museum Of Art’s 102nd Annual Spring Salon exhibition opens Saturday, April 25th, with a public reception 7-9pm. The exhibition runs through July 3rd, 2026.
