Alice Merrill Horne Honored with Sculpture

posted in: News | 0

The State of Utah honored Alice Merrill Horne, and her legacy in the arts, with a sculptural installation at the offices of the Utah Division of Arts & Museums on South Temple. The graceful sculpture, composed of steel and gold leaf, was commissioned by the state, and created by Heath Satow. The concept honors the “seeds” Alice planted for culture in Utah, with her Art Bill which passed in 1899, and many decades of advocacy, public and private, for the arts.
