“SILVERY REFLECTIONS” ACQUIRED FOR STATE COLLECTION!

We are excited to announce that the Utah Division of Arts & Museums has purchased one of Karen Horne’s train station paintings for its permanent collection, with assistance from SPIKE 150 funds. She created it for the Transcontinental exhibition as a modern-day celebration of the iconic Union Station Depot and South Temple Trax line. It will be part of a permanent record of the sesquicentennial, and the state will now own a piece from the Salt Lake cityscape series.

Karen Horne is especially honored to have this work included in the collection founded by her great-grandmother, Alice Merrill Horne, with the passage of her “Art Bill” in 1899.
