The editor of the premier national art magazine, FINE ART CONNOISSEUR, has chosen Karen Horne’s oil painting, “Chef’s Station,” to be featured in a photo essay of artworks on food and cooking. Ever since Karen visited Italy as a graduate student, she’s been inspired to paint the pleasures of dining and outdoor markets.
This oil painting, from her recent Dine O’Round In Paint series, depicts a dramatic food station at a festive Grand America brunch. She aimed to capture the flurry of movements and the contrasts of light and dark.
